DISABILITY  SUPPORT  PENSION ADVOCACY  AUSTRALIA
WELCOMES  YOU

This is a dedicated topic-specific advocacy service specialising in, and for, providing critical information related to medical eligibility of the DSP income support in Australia, which is not readily available from Services Australia website. There is a significant lack of support, guidance, and assistance for our society’s most vulnerable people, so we are attempting to fill that void as much as we can.  General DSP, carers, along with process and procedures issues are not dealt with here.

HOW DISABILITY SUPPORT PENSION APPEALS AUSTRALIA CAME ABOUT

I went on dsp in 2004 for mental health reasons. I stopped working part time in 2014, stopped formal study in 2015. I was reviewed in 2016 just a couple of months after a suicide attempt. I no longer qualified under the new rules due to the unreasonable evidence required, my functional impairments, and incompetent assessors getting all the facts wrong. So began my journey. I appealed all the way to federal court, lodged 2 new claims then appealed to AAT level 2 again. I finally got my pension back after 2 years, on a new claim due to exacerbation of my mental health caused directly by this dispute and the stress of trying to survive on NS.
That is my experience and where all my knowledge of the legislation and processes comes from.

OUR SUCCESS

“Just wanted to update on my daughter’s claim.
I posted last week that she’d had the JCA and it went really well. Well she had the sonic on Friday. And her payments appeared yesterday! So she’s been approved, and back paid to the date I submitted her claim in late December.
The guides provided here are a godsend! So, please use the resources that Mowse (Karen) has developed.”

“Well after 3 attempts at DSP I have finally been granted, and it’s purely because of this page the first 2 times I really didn’t know what I was doing… I cannot stress enough use the forms from this page for your Dr and Specialists, write your own report on how you are impacted and anyone you live with get them to do the same…
Mowse offers her services WHICH I USED, INVALUABLE, I believe her advice and knowledge got me over the line…
Please know that MH is approved for DSP and during you interviews if you have a meltdown let it happen, it’s just more proof of the very real struggle, please don’t give up, with the help of this page, Mowse (Karen) and other admins IT WILL HAPPEN… Good Luck & Thank you.

“Without a JCA or Sonic I was approved this morning. I am in utter disbelief and in tears. I haven’t processed this properly yet. From the bottom of my heart ❤️ thank you so much for your help and support.
I am forever grateful for your help.
